CENTRAL MOTOR
VEHICLE RULES – 1989

For exercising the provisions created by the Central
motor vehicle Act 1989, Government of
India made rules called the CMV RULES (CENTRAL MOTOR VEHICLE RULES) that
regulate all aspects of road transport like registration, license, and
requirements for carrying hazardous goods, liability, offences etc.
The important provisions created in the CMV rules
regarding transportation of hazardous goods are specified in rules 129 to 137, the
contents of the rules are

Educational qualifications for
drivers of goods carriages carrying dangerous or hazardous goods |
RULE 129/129 A: Transportation of goods of dangerous or hazardous nature to human life, It states that
Every goods carriage, carrying dangerous or hazardous
goods (whether in bulk or in packages), shall display a distinct mark of the
class label appropriate to the type of dangerous or hazardous goods specified
in rule 137 (which are described at the
end of the document)
- Every Package shall display
a distinct mark of the class label appropriate to the type of dangerous or
hazardous goods specified.
- If two hazards are present then two distinct labels to be present
