The lockdown due to the COVID –19 has shut down many businesses especially manpower based industries, once situation normalizes the important challenge is to bring back together the workforce to scale up production, this requires implementing new health guidelines and provide the required health safety measures to all permanent and temporary workforce to prevent the possibility of the workforce becoming sick again.

Organizations have to take up reassurance measures, safety and health policies with clear protection health guidelines and should closely watch for the surrounding community health patterns.

Some of the important steps that need to be considered are:

1.  Making compulsory use of nose masks  and ensuring people do not shake hands or other forms of physical touch while  greeting each other and  avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands

2. High probability of person to person contact incidents happen in places like conference rooms, meeting halls, training rooms, change rooms and canteens where people come close enough.

3. Ensuring seating and standing arrangements to maintain a minimum distance as required, frequent sanitization of these places and provision of proper cleaning agents and sanitizers, the staggering process can be worked out.

4. Disinfecting frequently touched surfaces on worksites and in offices, including handrails, doorknobs of toilets.

5. Displaying health and safety posters at prominent locations that will continuously remind people to follow safe practices as required.

6. In most industries the contract and temporary workforce do not have proper orientation, PPEs or facilities to meet the required laid down standards and guidelines, the contractor should be a part of the company’s safety priorities.

7. A dedicated team for guiding the Temporary workforce for following the
required health measures and Implementing the required new regulatory policies and guidelines issued by the government from time to time.
